THE WORD OF THE PRESIDENT
To restore among all Freemasons the Universal Chain of Union broken
by deplorable debarments, the Appeal of Strasbourg decides to
establish a Chain of Union founded on a total freedom of conscience
and on perfect mutual tolerance and it calls all Freemasons to join
this Chain,
Above all, the Appeal of Strasbourg is the rejection of intolerance
and dogmatic and others debarments in Masonry. At the same time, it
reaffirms the Universality of Masonry, in accordance with the
Constitutions of Anderson of 1723, founding base of speculative
Masonry. Also, it fosters an open mind to the Other without
condition of reciprocity.
Since soon fifty years, very numerous Obediences responded to this
Appeal. They gathered together in the Centre of Liaison and
Information of the Masonic Powers Signatories of the Appeal of
Strasbourg, in short CLIPSAS, which, far from setting itself as a
superobedience, is an association of Sovereign Obediences, under
French Law.
At the beginning of the XXI Century, CLIPSAS is the only adogmatic
Masonic association at the world level. It assembles sixty one
Obediences, all united in an Absolute Liberty of Conscience, in
Europe, Middle East, Africa, North, Central and South Americas,
providing to CLIPSAS a specific intercontinental nature.
This year, several Obediences are already applying and, thanks to
numerous other new memberships, CLIPSAS will pursue without respite
developing the Universal Chain of Union towards the goal of the
Appeal of Strasbourg, Gather what is Scattered.
Marc-Antoine Cauchie
President of CLIPSAS
CLIPSAS gathers the members of the Masonic fraternity through the Grand Lodges or Grand Orients they already belong to.
CLIPSAS IS NOT A SOURCE OF INDICATION for the no-initiates who intend to enter the Freemasonry.
CLIPSAS DOES NOT HAVE INDIVIDUAL FREEMASONS AS MEMBERS. In other words, a Freemason cannot join Clipsas. Not even a Masonic Lodge can do it. Only the Grand Lodge or Grand Orient to which the Masons are linked through the Masonic Lodges can affiliate.
CLIPSAS DOES NOT GIVE ADDRESSES. For the ones who are looking for a Masonic Lodge we suggest to search patiently on the internet so it may be possible to find one. However, even if it is not possible we do not give addresses.
