THE WORD OF THE PRESIDENT

August 7th 2011

CLIPSAS, the world's largest organization of liberal and adogmatic Freemasonry, strongly condemns the killing  perpetrated by a young Norwegian infiltrated the Grand Lodge of Norway, who was immediately expelled. CLIPSAS regrets that this criminal could have been admitted into a Masonic obedience that shares the values of universal Freemasonry, totally opposed to those practiced in the name of which this intolerable act.  Following the convictions of several of its  members and of many other universal Freemasonry Obediences, CLIPSAS underlines the absolute contradiction between the ideas and the profile of the responsible for this massacre and the values and the profile of the Masons, such as absolute freedom of conscience, fraternity, tolerance and respect cultural differences and human rights. CLIPSAS remembers that the universal FM opposes any kind of religious fundamentalism, ideological or political, in the name of a universal ethic of brotherly love, regardless of beliefs, nationalities and origin, and fighting terror, ignorance and sectarianism. CLIPSAS apelles for the greatest rigor on the part of all persuasions in the admission procedures for its members in order to prevent further reprehensible and shameful situations.

António Reis
President of CLIPSAS

CLIPSAS gathers the members of the Masonic fraternity through the Grand Lodges or Grand Orients they already belong to.

CLIPSAS IS NOT A SOURCE OF INDICATION for the no-initiates who intend to enter the Freemasonry.

CLIPSAS DOES NOT HAVE INDIVIDUAL FREEMASONS AS MEMBERS. In other words, a Freemason cannot join Clipsas. Not even a Masonic Lodge can do it. Only the Grand Lodge or Grand Orient to which the Masons are linked through the Masonic Lodges can affiliate.

CLIPSAS DOES NOT GIVE ADDRESSES. For the ones who are looking for a Masonic Lodge we suggest to search patiently on the internet so it may be possible to find one. However, even if it is not possible we do not give addresses.
